Caroline Voagen Nelson is a New York-based artist and curator working in digital photomontage, animation, and installation. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and printed in publications nationally and internationally, most recently at Sotheby’s Institute of Art. An editorial photographer for over ten years, she uses her photographic training to create cinematic stop motion films. Nelson's practice has evolved from deconstructing environments, history, and folklore in photomontage to creating narratives in animation. In collaging environments, she researches historical archives to create landscapes inspired by the past and spaces in transition. She received her undergraduate degree at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and recently received her masters in Digital Arts at Pratt Institute.
